Can the successor of "Black Widow" continue to play the role? It all depends on whether the audience likes it

In the new film "Black Widow" released by Marvel Studios, Florence Pugh will play Yelena Belova, who will be introduced to the Marvel Universe. Fans generally speculate that this character will take over the mantle of Black Widow and continue the legend of Natasha Romanoff played by Scarlett Johansson. But in an interview, Pugh was not so sure about the possibility of her playing a role in subsequent Marvel movies.

Black Widow made her debut in Iron Man 2, and now Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow has finally become the protagonist and has her own movie of the same name. In Black Widow, the film will explore Romanoff's history before joining the Avengers, and is expected to find a successor to Black Widow after she sacrificed her life in Avengers 4 to pass on this spirit.

After Pere was confirmed to play Yelena Belova, she became the most likely candidate to inherit the role of Black Widow, and according to the plot development in the comics, it is indeed the case. In a recent interview, Pere expressed her excitement about the possibility of joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the future. However, Pere also pointed out that whether she can continue to play Yelena depends on how well the role is accepted. She said: "If I am lucky enough and players like my character, the road ahead will be very exciting. If I am not excited, I would be a fool. It is a great honor to be able to join the Marvel club. But we still have to see if everyone likes Yelena first."

On the other hand, Scarlett is more confident that Per's character can continue to carry the "Black Widow" film series: "I think this is definitely the beginning of everything. She stands on her own feet. She is very powerful and unique. She is a completely different character from Natasha." She also talked about the generation gap between Natasha and Yelena: "You can also see the difference caused by the generation, and how they deal with this issue, and what they care about and what they don't care about."

"Black Widow" will be officially released on November 6, 2020.
