The New Mutants: Wolfsbane character trailer faces inner fears

20th Century Fox released a trailer for The New Mutants, in which Maisie Williams (Game of Thrones) talks about her character Wolfsbane, from being terrified of her own abilities to finally facing them and seeing them as a tool for the sake of camaraderie.

In the original setting of the comics, the mother of "Wolfsbane" Lane Sinclair was a prostitute who died on the night of childbirth. Her father was a local Presbyterian minister who adopted Lane but did not reveal the fact that he was her father. When Lane first activated her mutant ability to become a "transitional" werewolf form, she was mistaken for a werewolf. The religious locals believed that she was possessed by the devil. Led by her father, Lane was chased...

In addition to Wolfsbane, the mutants that appear in "The New Mutants" include Mysterio, Cannonball, Moonstar, and Sunspot, played by Anya Taylor-Joy ("Split"), Charlie Heaton ("Stranger Things"), Blu Hunt ("The Originals"), and Henry Zager ("13 Reasons Why") respectively. These five young "mutants" discover their superpowers while being held in a secret institution, and strive to get rid of the sins of the past to save themselves.

"The New Mutants" is scheduled to be released in North American theaters on August 28.
