Amazon's 'Blade Runner' TV series has begun filming

Amazon's streaming platform Prime Video's "Blade Runner 2099" is the sequel to the two films in the series, and it was confirmed earlier that Michelle Yeoh will play the leading role. It was recently confirmed that the series has officially started filming in Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic.

According to The Prague Report, Blade Runner 2099 began filming on June 30 and will be booked for the next six months at the Randolph Studios. Michelle Yeoh will play a replicant named Olwen whose artificial life is about to end. Hunter Schafer will play another main character, Cora, who will find herself involved in a conspiracy with Olwen.

In addition, according to Deadline, several other actors have been added to the cast, including Katelyn Rose Downey, Lewis Gribben, Dimitri Abold, and Daniel Rigby will play long-term roles, and Amy Lennox, Matthew Needham, Sheila Atim and Johnny Harris will guest star in the series.

The series will be created by Silka Luisa, and Ridley Scott, the director of the original film released in 1982, will serve as executive producer. Amazon has not yet set a release date for "Blade Runner 2099".
