Henry Cavill's Highlander director reveals action scenes inspired by John Wick

The fantasy film series "Highlander" (also known as "The Challenger" or "Time Raiders"), which was originally released in 1986, had previously announced that it would be rebooted with Henry Cavill starring in a new series, but the project had to be shelved due to the Hollywood strike.

Recently, Chad Stahelski, the director of the new version of Highlander, revealed in an interview with foreign media "Collider" that "filming will begin in Scotland in January."

In addition to the official production news, the director of the "John Wick" series also revealed that he will be inspired by the commendable action scenes of "John Wick" and will not turn the new version of "Highlander" into one sword fight scene after another.

Chad Stahelski mentioned that cold weapon fighting is one of the most difficult props, because it is more dangerous than prop guns (in the interview, he said that if the gunfight is too messy, digital technology will be used to create effects such as the flame at the muzzle), and training actors and designing fighting scenes are huge challenges. In addition, he is worried that "will the sword fighting movie I made make you feel bored?" Therefore, he also has to think about how to insert gunfights, close combat, car chases and other scenes in the movie like "John Wick".
