It is directed by Niki Caro ("The Zookeeper's Wife" and "Whale Rider"). It is adapted from the Disney animation of the same name based on Chinese folk legends. The film was originally scheduled to be released in North American theaters in March this year, but was postponed several times due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
