"Slam Dunk" new animated film ranks second in Korean box office among Japanese films, second only to "Your Name"

Cultural exchange is a reliable bridge for international friendly relations. According to the latest statistics as of February 11, the number of viewers of the new Slam Dunk animated film "THE FIRST SLAM DUNK" in South Korea exceeded 2.73 million, surpassing "Howl's Moving Castle" to become the second in the history of Japanese animated films, second only to "Your Name" that year.

The movie "THE FIRST SLAM DUNK" was written and directed by the original author Takehiko Inoue, produced by Toei Animation, and composed by Takebe Satoshi and 10-FEET. It was released in Japan on December 3 and landed in Korean theaters on January 4, quickly topping the box office charts for 12 consecutive days. It also led to a boom in the sales of the comic version, sparking discussions about the improvement of South Korea-Japan relations.

·The No. 1 spot in the Korean movie box office rankings has always been occupied by Makoto Shinkai’s “Your Name”, with a total of 3.79 million viewers. I wonder if “Slam Dunk” can surpass it?
