At the San Diego Comic-Con 2020, the Marvel Comics adaptation of The New Mutants unveiled its opening credits and released a new trailer. It was revealed that the film is only 98 minutes long. After several schedule changes, The New Mutants is currently scheduled to be released in North America on August 28.

The New Mutants was produced by 20th Century Fox and distributed by Walt Disney. The film was originally supposed to be the 13th film in the "X-Men Film Series", but after being edited by Walt Disney, it was completely separated from the X-Men series. The characters in the film are taken from Marvel's comic book "The New Mutants", and the story tells about a group of young new mutants fighting in a secret organization to protect themselves.

"The New Mutants" is directed by Josh Boone ("The Fault in Our Stars") and stars Anya Taylor-Joy ("Split"), Maisie Williams ("Game of Thrones"), Charlie Heaton ("Stranger Things"), Henry Zager ("13 Reasons Why"), and Blu Hunt ("The Originals").
