Warner Bros.' upcoming Mortal Kombat movie seems to be recreating the iconic death scenes in the game without reservation. Lewis Tan, who plays a character in the movie (the specific role is unknown), recently gave an interview to ComicBook, in which he revealed that some of the deaths he saw on the set made him feel sick. “Let me just say that there were days when I was shooting that I felt sick, I’m not kidding!” Lewis Tan said. “They didn’t… really put any restrictions.” Since the launch of the game "Mortal Kombat", bloody finishing moves and KO scenes have always been its iconic features, including beheading, disembowelment, etc. If the movie version is going to reproduce these scenes, it would be normal to use special effects, but this movie does not seem to be going to do so. Film producer Todd Garner has previously talked about this R-rated movie, saying that the film does not require too many special effects to complete. Screenwriter Greg Russo also revealed to ComicBook that the movie version of "Mortal Kombat" will accurately reproduce the death scenes in the game. Greg Russo said that there should indeed be a corresponding bottom line. If it goes too far, it is likely to cause disgust among the audience. He said that what can be done is to be as faithful to the original game as possible without appearing too ridiculous. |
