"My Hometown and I" continues the collective creation method, with Zhang Yimou as the chief producer, Ning Hao as the chief director, Zhang Yibai as the chief planner, Ning Hao, Xu Zheng, Chen Sicheng, Yan Fei & Peng Damo, Deng Chao & Yu Baimei directing five stories respectively, and the director lineup can be called the "Chinese Comedy Dream Team". The unit directed by Xu Zheng is starred by Wang Junkai, Yang Zi, Zhang Yi, Li Chen and others. The unit directed by Chen Sicheng was previously revealed to be filmed in Guizhou, and Liu Haoran, Wang Baoqiang, Dong Zijian, Wang Xun and others appeared on the set.
