Marvel's Asian superhero movie "Shang-Chi" may resume filming in Australia at the end of July

According to foreign media Deadline, Marvel's new film Shang-Chi is preparing to resume production and filming at Fox Studios in Sydney at the end of this month. Currently, Marvel is still cautious about resuming work. At that time, all crew members arriving in Australia must follow local regulations and be quarantined for observation.

In mid-March, Shang-Chi director Destin Daniel Cretton was tested for the coronavirus on the advice of a doctor because he had a newborn baby at home and the COVID-19 pandemic was spreading in Australia. He is currently in self-isolation. Before the test results came out, Marvel suspended the filming of the first crew of Shang-Chi until the test results came out.

"Shang-Chi" became the second Disney film to resume filming after James Cameron's "Avatar 2" resumed filming in New Zealand in June.

"Shang-Chi" has now been postponed to May 7, 2021 in North America. Canadian-Chinese Simu Liu will play the protagonist "Shang-Chi", Tony Leung will play "Mandarin", and "Crazy Rich Asians" heroine Awkwafina will join.
