South Korean horror film "Gonjiam" will be remade into a US version of the suicidal youth exploring the haunted house at night

According to foreign media THR, the well-known Korean horror film "Gonjiam" will be remade into an American version. Los Angeles film and television agency Black Box Management has signed a cooperation agreement with Seoul's BH Entertainment and is developing this project.

The original Gonjiam film grossed $20 million worldwide with a budget of $2.2 million. The film is a pseudo-documentary about a group of young people who visit the haunted Gonjiam Psychiatric Hospital at night through a live webcast. In 1979, 42 patients committed suicide at the Gonjiam Psychiatric Hospital and the hospital's director disappeared, and the building was abandoned.
