The animated film "Yang Jian" was approved, and the producer of "The Return of the Great Sage" joined

Today (May 22), according to the National Film Administration's film shooting and production announcement, the animated film "Yang Jian" has been successfully approved. The film is produced by Hu Mingyi, the producer of "The Return of the Great Sage", and will be released in theaters across the country in 2021.

"Yang Jian" will tell the story of how the mother of Erlang Shen Yang Jian disregarded the rules of Heaven and gave birth to children with a mortal. She was later captured by Heaven and imprisoned under Peach Mountain. After Yang Jian became a disciple and learned his trade, he split Peach Mountain to rescue his mother and released the nine evil spirits, the Golden Crows. Finally, with the help of Heaven, Yang Jian destroyed the Nine Golden Crows and saved the people.

It is reported that the preparation of "Yang Jian" began in 2018, and it took several revisions to finally determine the image of Yang Jian. Zhou Tifeng, the producer of the film, said that for an animated film to be successful, it is necessary to focus not only on technical issues but also on character creation: "I have seen some animated films, which have not been small in investment, but I feel that the characters are too far away from the public. There are many themes such as saving the earth and saving mankind, but the image of the characters is not clear and lacks local characteristics." Hu Mingyi said that he hopes to make the classic IP "Yang Jian" unique among similar themes by creating a worldview for the film.
