Netflix officially announced that the second season of "The Umbrella Academy" will premiere globally on July 31, 2020. The Umbrella Academy is based on the hit Eisner Award-winning comic and graphic novel, written by Gerard Way (My Chemical Romance) and illustrated by Gabriel Ba. The first season premiered in the United States on February 15, 2019. Season 1 Synopsis: On the same day in 1989, 43 babies are inexplicably born to random, unconnected women with no signs of pregnancy. Seven of the children are adopted by billionaire industrialist Sir Reginald Hargreeves, who founds the Umbrella Academy and trains his "children" to save the world. But things don't go as planned. In their teenage years, the family was torn apart and the team disbanded. Now, the six surviving members are in their thirties and reunited at the news of Hargreeves' death. Luther, Diego, Alison, Klaus, Vanya and Number Five work together to solve the mystery of their father's mysterious death. But with their different personalities and abilities, the estranged family is once again on the verge of breaking apart, not to mention the threat of an impending doomsday. |
