Just a decoration. The 18-meter Gundam model in Yokohama now has a leg frame.

In addition to FILA's commemorative apparel, the Gundam 40th anniversary celebrations also include an 18-meter life-size movable model. Although this model will not be displayed to the public until later this year in Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture, a recent media visit to the Gundam factory saw the latest version of the project.

There, they saw the internal frame of the original Gundam (RX-78-2) being built, and the model now seemed to be able to move slightly and take a step. Of course, this is still far from the real mechanical action we want to see, but it is still impressive, and it was necessary to use lightweight materials to reduce its weight and replace hydraulic actuators with electric motors to make it possible. Of course, the shock of this is far greater than the original model in Odaiba, Tokyo for the 30th anniversary, and even more impressive than the 2017 Odaiba Unicorn model.
