Recently, according to Japanese media reports, Japan's Seibu Group is considering gradually closing the amusement park "Toshimaen" in Nerima District, Tokyo. It is expected that this amusement park will be transformed into a "Harry Potter" theme park with disaster prevention functions in the future. Most of the land of the amusement park was acquired by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and is being used to build a theme park. The government has been negotiating with the well-known American film company "Warner Bros." to build a "Harry Potter" theme park. A formal decision is expected to be made this spring. "Toshimaen" in Nerima Ward opened in 1926. With a large number of amusement facilities and multiple swimming pools, it has become a famous large amusement park in the Tokyo metropolitan area. The operation of the amusement park is handled by a wholly-owned subsidiary of Seibu Railway Company. The "Harry Potter" theme park is planned to be built on the site of the urban amusement park "Toshimaen" (Nerima-ku, Tokyo) which closed in 2020, and is scheduled to open in Tokyo in the spring of 2023. |
