Andy Lau plays Sun Wukong in the new film "Seven Saints" and tells the story of the Monkey King and the Bull Demon King

Directed by Ma Chucheng and produced and starred by Andy Lau, the film "Seven Saints" will start shooting in May this year. This is another "Journey to the West" IP film, with Sun Wukong as the core. Andy Lau plays the Monkey King Sun Wukong, Huang Minghao plays Nezha in the film, and other actors include Zhong Chuxi, Li Chengru, Huang Minghao, etc.

The "Seven Saints" are seven sworn brothers in Chinese mythology. This mythological group is also mentioned in "Journey to the West". The Seven Saints are: Bull Demon King (Great Sage Pingtian), Jiao Demon King (Great Sage Fuhai), Peng Demon King (Great Sage Mixing the Sky), Lion King (Great Sage Moving Mountains), Monkey King (Great Sage Ventilating), Yu Ape King (Great Sage Driving Away Gods), and the Beautiful Monkey King (Great Sage Equaling Heaven).

Ma Chucheng revealed that this time, Sun Wukong will have a great breakthrough in character modeling. The brotherhood and love embodied in him are the core to impress the audience. The script has been prepared for a year. Andy Lau plays two roles in "Seven Saints". Li Chengru also challenges the role of Bull Demon King, who is loved by the audience, and plays a brotherly relationship with Andy Lau.

Most of the previous film and television works with Sun Wukong as the protagonist started with the havoc in heaven, but "Seven Saints" is actually a prequel to the Monkey King. This kind of subject matter has never been touched upon before. "Seven Saints" supplements the gaps in the original work, which is very interesting."
