Famous director Martin's "The Irishman" received 10 Oscar nominations, surpassing "Avengers 4"

Previously, the famous director Martin Scorsese criticized Marvel movies as "amusement park" movies, which caused great controversy around the world. Last night, the list of nominees for the 92nd Academy Awards was officially announced. Martin Scorsese's "The Irishman" received 10 nominations including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Cinematography, Best Visual Effects and Best Costume Design, while Marvel's masterpiece "Avengers 4" became the box office champion in film history, but only received an Oscar nomination for Best Visual Effects.

Interestingly, the Warner x DC original film Joker received the most nominations this year, with a total of 11. Martin Scorsese also served as a producer on the film, although he made it clear that he had no personal contribution to the experience, even admitting that he has not watched Joker in its entirety and may never do so.

During the press tour for The Irishman, Martin Scorsese shared some innocuous comments about how he tries to enjoy superhero movies but doesn't particularly enjoy them and that they don't fit his definition of "cinema."

Martin Scorsese said in an interview with Empire magazine: "I haven't seen them (superhero movies). I've tried, you know? But it's not cinema. Honestly, the closest thing I can think of to them is theme parks, even though they're well made and the actors do the best they can under the circumstances. It's not cinema where a human being is trying to convey an emotional and psychological experience to another human being."
