Cameron: Avatar will definitely surpass Endgame at the box office if it's re-released

After the release of Avengers 4 this year, the box office has been soaring, surpassing Avatar after the re-release, becoming the world's all-time box office champion. Cameron has twice posted congratulatory pictures to congratulate Avengers 4 for beating his own work at the box office. The first time was to congratulate Avengers 4 for surpassing Titanic at the box office, and the second time was to congratulate Avengers 4 for surpassing Avatar. But Cameron seemed unwilling to accept this.

Recently, when Avatar held its 10th anniversary celebration, Cameron was interviewed by USA Today and said that he believed that if Avatar was re-released, it would definitely surpass the global box office record of Avengers 4. "I think this is inevitable, but we also have to give Avengers 4 some time to celebrate, let us celebrate that people will still go to the cinema." Cameron said.

Avatar 2 will be released on December 17, 2021. It is not impossible for Disney/Fox to re-screen Avatar to support the release of Avatar 2.
