Amazon's 'Lord of the Rings' recruits extras in New Zealand to play orcs

Amazon's The Lord of the Rings is set to start filming in New Zealand, and the crew is now inviting the New Zealand public to sign up to play minor roles in the series!

Specifically, according to the casting agent, they are looking to recruit someone with a "nice nose" or "photogenic face" who is over 6 feet tall or under 5 feet tall to play the orcs in the show.

The two casting companies commissioned are looking for people of any background or ethnicity, preferably with lots of freckles and lots of hair. In addition, they are looking for "long-legged, flexible dancers," "short, fat, vicious-looking riders" and "redheads of all ages and body types." The idea, the companies said, is to find people whose faces are naturally full of features and don't need too much makeup.

Amazon's The Lord of the Rings has been renewed for a second season before filming of the first season began. Yesterday we reported that Morfydd Clark was chosen to play the young Elf Queen Galadriel. According to the urgent information about the recruitment of extras, the filming date may be in early 2020.
