Marvel TV department will lay off employees and merge into Marvel Films, Kevin Feige will take sole charge

According to Variety, Marvel has decided that its Marvel TV division will no longer develop new series. Informants revealed that Marvel will lay off some employees in the Marvel TV division in the near future, and the current senior vice president of Marvel TV, Karim Zreik, will bring his team to Marvel Studios and work under Kevin Feige.

During the transition period, Jeph Loeb, the current head of Marvel TV, will continue to stay in the department. He has been in Marvel TV for many years and has created many Marvel live-action dramas such as the "Defenders" series such as "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." and "Daredevil", "The Gifted", "Inhumans", etc. It is not clear when he will leave.

Marvel's decision to shut down its TV division was not without warning. Kevin Feige's film division is booming, and has officially announced that it will produce some big-budget live-action series for Disney+, such as "The Falcon and the Winter Soldier", "Loki", "She-Hulk", etc. These characters will eventually be linked to the movie universe. In contrast, Loeb's TV division is clearly on the decline.

Kevin Feige has been promoted to Chief Creative Officer of Marvel and has taken over the creative direction of all Marvel publishing, movies, television, animation and other media. Previously, it was revealed that he and Marvel chairman Ike Perlmutter were at odds, but now all Marvel multimedia executives need to report to Kevin Feige, who directly consults with Alan Horn and Alan Bergman, the heads of Disney Studios.
