Sony Pictures announced that they plan to re-screen Quentin Tarantino's Once Upon a Time in Hollywood in more than 1,000 theaters in North America on Friday, the 25th, and will "end the film with previously unseen footage." According to reports, the re-screening version will add four additional scenes of 10 minutes, making the length of the film exceed 2 hours and 50 minutes, approaching 3 hours. Adrian Smith, regional president of distribution for Sony Pictures, said: “Audiences have been incredibly supportive of the film and we look forward to giving them another chance to see it on the big screen – with even more Sixties sights and sounds as an added bonus.” Originally, the re-screening of movies would mostly be separated from the original release period by a long interval, but this year's "Avengers 4" and now "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood" have chosen to increase the number of re-screenings in a short period of time, hoping to take advantage of the popularity to break through a higher box office ceiling in one fell swoop, which may gradually become a new trend. |
