Hollywood actor Colin Farrell expressed his excitement about HBO Max's The Batman villain Penguin's independent spin-off series in a recent interview at the launch of the film "The Banshee of Inishreen". The actor admitted that he didn't know about the series when he was filming The Batman, but he wanted to explore the character more at the time. Farrell was interviewed by Variety at the Palm Springs International Film Festival and asked if he knew The Batman would lead to this spinoff. He quickly responded, "Oh my god, no." The actor then continued, "The only thing I thought about it was that I didn't get to explore the character as much as I wanted to." “Because (makeup artists) Mike Marino and Mike Fontaine and their team did such an amazing job and we were only going to shoot six or seven scenes for the movie, I felt like that was just the ‘tip of the iceberg,’ if you’ll excuse the pun. I’m still very grateful to them, but I wanted more.” Most importantly, in the interview, Farrell revealed that the Penguin series will officially start filming in February. HBO Max has not yet announced the premiere time of the series, but it is now known that actress Cristin Milioti will play the heroine in the series, playing the role of Sofia Falcone, the daughter of gangster boss Carmel Falcone. Farrell has also been confirmed to star in the second sequel to The Batman, although director Matt Reeves has not revealed whether he has completed the script for the sequel. |
