Hemsworth reviews his performance in Thor 4: It didn't meet expectations

Chris Hemsworth has spoken about Thor: Love and Thunder, a film he believes didn't live up to expectations. The fourth Thor film, directed by Taika Waititi, was released in 2022 and received more mixed reviews from critics and audiences than its predecessor, Thor: Ragnarok.

In an interview, Hemsworth shared his thoughts: "I got lost in the improvisation and the comedy and became a buffoon. I didn't achieve the expected effect." It is unclear whether he will appear in another Thor movie, although the post-credits scene of Thor 4 hinted at it. However, Hemsworth seems to feel that he owes the audience a better work.

The article also quoted Robert Downey Jr., who plays Iron Man, praising Hemsworth's performance, calling Thor: Ragnarok, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame "an amazing trifecta." He added: "In my opinion, Hemsworth is the most psychologically complex of all the Avengers. He is humorous and courageous, but also restrained, fiery, and gentle."

Hemsworth will next be seen in Furiosa, the prequel to Mad Max: Fury Road. In the action film, he will play the villain Dementus, opposite Anya Taylor-Joy's Furiosa. He recently shared his preparation process in an interview.

“George suggested I keep a diary as a character, which is something I had never done before,” Hemsworth recalls. “It was two o’clock in the morning, I couldn’t sleep, so I picked up a pen and started writing down Dementus’ thoughts and ideas. I didn’t think much of it at the time, but I woke up after a nap and was shocked by what I had written in my half-asleep state. I went into rehearsal and showed it to George, and we were both like, ‘This is it, this is the direction we’re going to go.’”
