Avengers 4 composer hints at returning to the MCU

Alan Silvestri, the composer who scored Avengers: Endgame, has hinted that he will return to the MCU.

Having composed the scores for Captain America, The Avengers, and Avengers: Infinity War, Silvestri's music will be very familiar to any Marvel fan, and many fans are hoping that he will return to the MCU soon (the composer has not composed for the MCU since 2019's Avengers: Endgame).

In a recent interview with CNN, Silvestri hinted that he has something brewing, responding to the question of whether he would return to the MCU this way: "Well, it seems very likely, I just can't say too much [laughs]. I do love that universe."

Silvestri did not reveal further details about which film he will be composing the score for. However, he did reveal other projects he is currently involved in, including another film with the Russo brothers, directors of "Endgame," and his 23rd project with "Back to the Future" and "Forrest Gump" director Robert Zemeckis, with whom Silvestri has been working since 1984's "Romancing the Stone."

Speaking about upcoming collaborations, the composer revealed one of them is a Forrest Gump reunion of sorts: "One thing that's really exciting is that I just finished a movie called With Zemeckis, which is our 23rd collaboration, our 23rd date. It's an amazing cast: Tom Hanks, Robin Wright, Kelly Reilly, Paul Bettany. We also have Joanna Johnston (costume designer), Don Burgess (photographer), and Eric Ross (writer) writing with Bob - all the Forrest Gump people are back together. It's a phenomenal movie, a unique way of telling a story, the likes of which the world has never seen before. The performances are amazing, and we're really excited about it."

As for the Russo brothers' next film, which is set to be released on Netflix later this year, Silvestri said: "I'm also working very hard on Electric Nation with the Russo brothers, which is why I have to go home early tomorrow - I have a lot of work to do, and the movie looks amazing."
