According to Variety, Westworld actress Thandiwe Newton will star in the second season of the hit American drama Wednesdays. She will star in an undisclosed role alongside newcomer Steven Buscemi (The Sopranos). Production on the second season was delayed due to the Screen Actors Guild and Writers Guild strike and has begun now. The first season of Wednesday premiered in November 2022 and quickly became the second most-watched English-language series on Netflix. The series received two Golden Globe nominations and was renewed for a second season in January 2023. Lead actress Jenna Ortega said last year: "It's still in the works, but we've decided to add more horror elements." Thandie Newton played Maeve Millay in Westworld, a role that earned her multiple Emmy and Golden Globe nominations. She has also starred in Mission: Impossible 2 and Solo: A Star Wars Story. |
