story

■ Story

14 years ago, Goro Shigeno overcame his yips and led the major league team, the Hornets, to their first division victory in 25 years. However, Goro had to leave the game midway through the division championship game due to circulatory problems and had to continue rehabilitation. After that, the Hornets were defeated without Goro, and they missed out on the world championship.
And then, Goro finished his rehabilitation and returned to the team. He played a major role as a closer and a key player for the Hornets, winning many titles. Five years ago, he achieved his dream of becoming a world champion in the World Series. However, he injured his shoulder and had to undergo rehabilitation again, but his second comeback was not successful.
After being fired from the Hornets, Goro returns to Japan. His wife Kaoru wants to live a peaceful life with the family of four, but Goro, with a secret resolve, trains alone. Goro is always away from home, ignoring his daughter Izumi and son Daigo. Izumi is suspicious of her father, who doesn't work and doesn't know what he's doing, and rebels. Fearing that the family bond will be damaged, Kaoru tells Goro to tell the children the truth, but Goro stubbornly refuses, saying, "You can't tell them until it's in shape..."
One day, after some time has passed, Goro invites the children to Ocean Stadium to deliver a certain "message" to them...
