The female lead of "Shang-Chi" will play the "Chosen Daughter" in the new urban fantasy film

Awkwafina, the heroine of Marvel's new Asian superhero film "Shang-Chi", is about to star in the new film "The Last Adventure of Constance Verity", which is adapted from the urban fantasy novel of the same name. The film is produced by Legendary Pictures (the producer of "Constantine") and will be written by John Lovejoy, the screenwriter of "The Bruce Lee Biography".

The Last Adventure of Constance Willity tells the story of Constance Willity, who was mysteriously thrust into a battle with supernatural forces from the moment she was born, and has been saving the world from disaster ever since. Now exhausted, Constance wants to try the things she missed - a boyfriend, a normal job, a best friend. But when you really are the chosen one, it's not easy to give up a life of adventure.

Awkwafina has appeared in many films this year. In addition to Marvel Studios' announcement that she will be the heroine of the Phase 4 MCU movie "Shang-Chi and the Ten Rings", she will also star in Sony's "Jumanji: The Next Level", and act opposite Meryl Streep and Nicole Kidman in "The Prom" produced by Ryan Murphy, as well as "Yuba County Breaking News" directed by Tate Taylor and Disney's live-action version of "The Little Mermaid" directed by Rob Marshall.
