Garfield denies starring in Spider-Man 4: I know no one believes what I say

Recently, Andrew Garfield said in an interview with British GQ that he has no intention of returning to Spider-Man 4, even though he clearly knows that no Marvel fans will believe him. After all, Garfield had a "criminal record" when preparing for the filming of Spider-Man: No Homecoming!

"I'm going to disappoint you," Garfield said of the Spider-Man 4 rumors, "but I know from now on, no one is going to believe anything I say." When asked if he would be interested in returning to the Spider-Man role or signing on to star in another big-budget Hollywood franchise, Garfield said: "If it's my cup of tea and it's fun."

There have also been rumors online that Garfield will reunite with Silence director Martin Scorsese to play Jesus in a new film, but the actor said "that's not true, as far as I know." Garfield would love the opportunity to do another Scorsese movie, but "you can't keep waiting for Scorsese to call because he makes a movie every three years, and a lot of times Leonardo DiCaprio is in it."

As for Spider-Man 4, series star Tom Holland told the "Rich Roll Podcast" last month that the promotion for the film has been "excellent," adding: "The writers have done a great job. I read it three weeks ago, and it really lit a fire in me. Zendaya and I read the script together, and we were sometimes jumping around in the living room, and it felt like a real movie that deserves the respect of the fans."

Earlier, it was reported that Zendaya's role in Spider-Man 4 would be reduced due to schedule conflicts, almost to a cameo, and therefore the film needs a new female lead. In the latest report, the candidate for the new female lead seems to be Anya Taylor-Joy. It is reported that she is in talks to join the sequel directed by Destin Cretton as "Black Cat" or in another capacity.
