Criticized by fans! The publisher apologized for deliberately modifying the relationship between the king Neptune and Yuri in the American version of Sailor Moon

Perhaps because of the LGBT Memorial Day, many interesting stories about LGBT have been dug up and received special attention. Recently, Viz Media, the American distributor of the classic Japanese animation "Sailor Moon", was criticized by fans for the American dubbing version "deliberately" modifying and erasing the lesbian relationship between Uranus and Neptune, and issued a statement to formally apologize.

The incident originated from a special pair in the American version of "Sailor Moon", Uranus and Neptune. Those who are familiar with the original animation should know that they are really a lesbian couple. However, in the American version, their relationship was deliberately described as "cousins", which triggered strong protests from fans who support LGBT. They blamed the wholesale distributors for not only disrespecting the original work, but also suspected of discriminating against homosexuals.

In its apology statement, Viz Media said that it would promptly rectify the situation and once again thanked the Sailor Moon fans for their corrections and hoped that everyone would continue to support it.
