Zachary Levi: I hope Shazam 2 can start filming in the middle of next year

We have previously reported that after the success of "Shazam!", DC finalized the production of the sequel in early April this year. Recently, in an interview with foreign media, "Shazam!" Zachary Levi expressed the hope that "Shazam! 2" can start filming in mid-2020.

Zachary Levi, the star of "Shazam!", revealed that the script of "Shazam! 2" is currently being written. The first screenwriter Henry Gayden will continue to write the sequel. The story of the sequel will be adapted from the comics of Bill Parker and CC Peck. Director David F. Sandberg and producer Peter Safran are also expected to return in the sequel.

After opening with a box office of 159 million US dollars in its first week, "Shazam!" broke the 200 million RMB mark in China in just three days. So it is not surprising that DC and New Line Cinema are filming a sequel to "Shazam!".
