HBO executive praises Game of Thrones final season for 'deliberately considered' ending

The final season of HBO's epic fantasy drama "Game of Thrones" was fully aired on Monday (May 20). Many fans are not satisfied with the finale, and some have even called on a petition website to "replace the screenwriter and remake the eighth season of "Game of Thrones." Recently, HBO's department director Casey Bloys was interviewed by foreign media Variety, praising the series' screenwriters David Benioff and DB Weiss, saying that it was their hard work that made George R.R. Martin's works so brilliantly presented on the screen .

Casey Bloys says Game of Thrones finale was " very deliberate ".

“I think these guys did a great job,” Casey Bloys said. “It’s always sad and upsetting when a show ends, but it’s part of the life cycle of television and life has to move on. But one thing is clear, we’re very proud of this show .”

“I think, to some extent, with a television project this big, you’re not going to please everybody,” Bloys said. “Some people love it, some people don’t. I think they did a great job of landing a large airplane, for example . But you’re never going to make everybody happy, and that shouldn’t be the goal .”

According to incomplete statistics, about 19.3 million viewers watched the finale that evening (local time), which also broke the relevant record of HBO.

It is worth mentioning that the number of people requesting a remake of the final season on the petition website has reached nearly 1.5 million. The petition emphasized the hope of replacing the two screenwriters David Benioff and DB Weiss, which is obviously different from HBO's opinion.
