The first trailer of "Jurassic World: Resurgence" is full of horror

Universal Pictures has just released the first trailer for "Jurassic World: Resurgence", starring legendary action star Scarlett Johansson, breakthrough actor Jonathan Bailey and two-time Oscar winner Mahershala Ali. A new adventure is staged in the mysterious tropical zone, where dark conspiracies are intertwined with shocking secrets.

According to the official introduction, the film is set five years after the events of "Jurassic World 3". The Earth's ecology has proven to be widely unsuitable for dinosaurs to survive. The remaining dinosaurs live in an isolated equatorial environment with a climate similar to the environment in which they once thrived. In that tropical biosphere, the three largest creatures hold a drug that can save humanity. A brave team will obtain DNA samples from these three huge creatures from land, sea and sky.

A new era is about to begin

Three years after the Jurassic World trilogy, each of which grossed more than $1 billion worldwide, the enduring Jurassic franchise is about to evolve in a new and ingenious way with Jurassic World: Resurgence. Starring global action superstar Scarlett Johansson, the film stars rising star Jonathan Bailey and two-time Oscar-winning actor Mahershala Ali. This action-packed story follows a fearless team as they race against time to obtain DNA samples from three of the largest creatures on land, sea and sky. The film also stars international stars Rupert Friend and Manu Jassia Rulfo, and is directed by visually striking director Gareth Edwards (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story) and written by David Koepp, who penned the original Jurassic Park.

Five years after the events of Jurassic World: Domination, Earth’s ecosystems have largely proven uninhabitable for dinosaurs. The surviving dinosaurs can only survive in isolated environments near the equator, where the climate is similar to the one they once thrived in. In this tropical biosphere, three of the largest dinosaurs contain a key ingredient that can be used to create a drug that can bring miraculous life-saving effects to humans. Academy Award-nominated Scarlett Johansson stars as Zora Bennett, a highly skilled undercover operations expert hired to lead an elite team on a top-secret mission to obtain genetic material from three of the world’s largest dinosaurs. However, when Zora and her crew encounter a civilian family on an aquatic expedition that is overturned by a predatory aquatic dinosaur, they are all stranded on an island. There they are about to uncover a shocking and sinister secret that has been hidden for decades.

Mahershala Ali plays Duncan Kincaid, the captain of Zora's most trusted team; Emmy Award nominee and Olivier Award winner Jonathan Bailey ("Wicked", "The Padgettons") plays a paleontologist Henry Loomis; Emmy Award nominee Rupert Friend ("Crimson," "Obi-Wan Kenobi") plays Martin Krebs, a representative of Biggs Pharmaceuticals; Manu Jacia Rulfo ("Dirty Justice", the thriller "Murder on the Orient Express") plays Ruben Delgado, the father of a civilian family that capsized; in addition, Luna Brace ("Flight"), David Iacono ("Summer of Love") and Audrina Miranda (the comedy series "Love and Love") play Ruben's family.

Actors Philippine Welch (sci-fi series "If Our World Disappeared"), Bishop Sivan (TV series "BMF") and Ed Skrein ("Deadpool"). "Jurassic World: Resurgence" is directed by BAFTA winner Gareth Edwards and written by David Koepp ("War of the Worlds"), based on the characters created by bestselling novelist Michael Crichton. The film is produced by Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley, both long-time producers of the "Jurassic" series, whose most recent work is "Twister" this summer; executive producers include Steven Spielberg, Dennis Stewart and Jim Spencer.

"Jurassic World: Resurgence" will be released in North America on July 2, 2025.
