"Carrot" Stark discusses Marvel's new film "Eternals" directed by a Chinese director

Marvel announced today the cast of its new film "Eternals". "Carrot" Stark (Richard Madden), the eldest son of the Wolf family in "Game of Thrones", is in negotiations to star in "Eternals". The film will be directed by Zhao Ting, the Chinese director of "The Rider", and Angelina Jolie will also join.

Previously announced casts include Angelina Jolie, Ma Dong-seok (Train to Busan), and Kumail Nanjiani (Uber), with Marvel President Kevin Feige as producer. The Eternals were created by Jack Kirby in 1976. They are an ancient human race created by the Celestials 1 million years ago. They have the genetic potential to mentally manipulate limited amounts of cosmic energy, as well as other superhuman characteristics.

In the comics, the legend of the Eternals can be traced back millions of years, when alien creatures called the Celestials conducted a large number of genetic experiments on humans, creating two human offspring, one is the immortal creatures with superpowers, the Eternals, and the other is the deformed Deviants. The two races established their own societies and operated in areas unknown to humans.

The characters involved in the Eternals include Igris, who possesses cosmic energy, Sersi, who is active in human society as an artist, and Thena, who is mistaken for the Greek goddess Athena. According to insiders, the film will tell the love story of Igris and Sersi.

"Eternals" is expected to start shooting in London in September. Previously, two untitled new Marvel films have been scheduled to be released in North America on May 1 and November 6, 2020. "Eternals" is considered to be one of them.
