Hit-Girl Moretz confirmed as the female lead in the live-action Tom and Jerry movie

According to foreign media Collider, "Hit-Girl" Chloe Grace Moretz is expected to join the live-action version of "Tom and Jerry" to play the heroine Kayla.

Kayla is an original character. She is a new employee at a luxury hotel. Jerry the mouse lives in the hotel and plans to sabotage a wedding that is about to be held here. Kayla has to find Tom the cat who lives in the alley and ask him to eliminate Jerry the mouse. However, Kayla's evil boss wants to eliminate both the cat and the mouse, so these three stranger characters will join forces to deal with the boss, the villain.

The story of "Tom and Jerry" is set in the real world, and the two famous animated characters, Tom and Jerry, also maintain the animation style. They can make the audience laugh without saying a word, and no real-life dubbing is used.

Tom and Jerry is a film that combines live-action performances with CG special effects. It is directed by Tim Story, the director of Fantastic Four, and written by Brian Schulz and Cornelius Uriano, the screenwriters of Snoopy: The Peanuts Movie. The film is expected to start shooting in London in June, wrap up in mid- to late September, and is scheduled to be released in North America on April 16, 2021.
