Sci-fi blockbuster "Dune" officially starts filming, with Tiancha Thanos and Zendaya joining

Today, the sci-fi blockbuster "Dune" officially started shooting. The film was produced by Legendary Pictures and adapted from the novel by writer Franco Herbert. It tells the story of the struggle for money and power among the cosmic nobles in the year 10191 of the Earth Era.

The new version of Dune is directed by Denis Villeneuve (Blade Runner 2049, Arrival). The script of Dune was co-written by Villeneuve, Eric Roth and Joe Spaihts.

The story of Dune revolves around the future world, where the family of the young Paul Atreides controls the desert planet Arrakis. The power of Arrakis means the sole control of all precious resources, and such tempting power has attracted disputes among the noble families. Thomas Tull will serve as executive producer with Brian Herbert, Byron Merritt and Kim Herbert, and Kevin J. Anderson will serve as creative consultant for the film.
