Arnold Schwarzenegger revealed on his podcast that he had a pacemaker implanted after three open-heart surgeries (operations that are performed while the heart is open, either stopped or not): "Last Monday, I had surgery to become a little more robotic: I had a pacemaker installed. First, I want to let you know that I'm doing fine! I had surgery on Monday, and on Friday I was at a big environmental event with my friend and fellow fitness enthusiast Jane Fonda. No one could have imagined that my week would begin with surgery. I want to thank my entire medical team at the Cleveland Clinic, all the doctors and nurses who took such great care of me and made the surgery as painless as possible." Schwarzenegger underwent open-heart surgery to replace his pulmonary and aortic valves in 1997, and then had both replaced again in 2018 and 2020. |
