Venom postponed its release in mainland China, surpassing North America to become the largest box office

The movie Venom: Let There Be Carnage has grossed over 1.8 billion yuan in box office revenue in 23 days, becoming the best-selling single-person superhero movie in Chinese film history. It has surpassed Jurassic World 2 and is second only to Avengers 3 as the best-selling imported film of the year. Today, according to foreign media Deadline, Venom has been postponed in mainland China, about a month later, until early January next year. Sony, the film company, has not yet made an official announcement.

"Venom: Let There Be Carnage" was released in mainland China on November 9 and has been released for 27 days so far. The cumulative box office has reached 1.833 billion yuan. Maoyan predicts that the box office will continue to rise. The release is very popular and is the second best imported film this year, second only to "Avengers 3"; the cumulative box office in North America has reached 211 million US dollars, and the global box office has reached 846 million US dollars, with China becoming the largest box office.

According to the ticketing website, Venom has grossed over $846 million worldwide, making it the fifth highest-grossing film of 2018. The film has performed very well in North America and overseas, with a cumulative North American box office of $211 million, making it the ninth film to gross over $200 million in North America this year. This box office result far exceeded expectations. Previously, foreign media predicted that Venom 2 would be released in 2020, which would surely set off another Venom craze.

The movie Venom is directed by Ruben Fleischer and co-starred by Tom Hardy, Michelle Williams, Riz Ahmed, Scott Haze and Reid Scott. The movie was released in Chinese theaters on November 9 and is currently being screened nationwide.
