Constantin Films released the first stills of the live-action reboot of Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City, showing characters such as Claire, Chris, Jill, Leon, and Wesker. The film will be released in North America on November 24. Director Johannes Roberts (Deep Sea Escape, Only Strangers) revealed that the film is based on the Resident Evil 1 and 2 games, and is set in Raccoon City in 1998. IGN interview details: The live-action reboot has no connection to the previous movies, and is inspired by Capcom's Resident Evil game and previous old-school movies. Returning to the horror roots of the series, it was heavily influenced by Resident Evil 2: Remake and wanted to capture the mood and tone of this generation of games, which is very cinematic. Capcom and the production team worked closely together No drone shots, no crazy CG shots Iconic monsters will appear Lisa Trevor will be more real The rebooted live-action movie "Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City" will record how Raccoon City changed from an industrial city to a dying Midwestern town and became the ground zero for the T virus outbreak. "The previous [Biotinar] films were very bright and shiny, whereas this one is dark and grimy, shot entirely at night. The rain was falling nonstop, and the town was shrouded in fog. ... I was very influenced by movies like The Exorcist, and The Exorcist: Revenge, and The Shining. You can really feel the texture of this movie. There's nothing high-tech about this town. It feels run-down. I wanted Raccoon City to be a bit like the town in The Deer Hunter; a ghost town that has been forgotten by the world. The whole structure of the movie was definitely influenced by Precinct 13." Cast: Kaya Scodelario as Claire Avan Jogia as Leon From left to right: Tom Hopper as Wesker Nathan Dales as Brad Vickers Hannah John-Kamen as Jill Robbie Amell as Chris Marina Mazepa as Lisa Trevor |
