Russian schools boycott Japanese anime; netizens: the reason is too immature

According to a recent report by Russian media Lenta.ru, in a school in Novokuibyshevsk, Russia, a male student was punished by his teacher for having a wallpaper of a Japanese anime girl on his mobile phone and was forced to delete the picture.

The teacher also invited the students' parents to the school for education, saying that "Japanese anime can cause mental harm to children, and I hope that parents can play a role in family supervision to avoid unnecessary tragedies."

The student's parents reported the matter to the Education Bureau, but to their surprise, the staff of the Education Bureau said: "The school does not have the right to confiscate students' mobile phones, but Japanese anime does have a negative influence on children."

The student's parent wrote on Twitter: "A female leader told me that there is a 25th frame in Japanese anime, and the secret message hidden in it may destroy the country." "Anime has been banned in Europe for a long time, and anime gatherings are like cults."

This incident also sparked debate among many domestic netizens. One person said: “This is the first time in my life that I have heard such a childish statement that anime is harmful.” It really makes people laugh.
