One Piece manga spin-off illustrated novel announced, focusing on female characters

The teen manga "One Piece" created by Eiichiro Oda has gained a large number of fans since it was serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" in July 1997. It has also been officially certified by the Guinness World Records as "the world's most circulated comic series created by a single author." The live-action adaptation of the same name launched last year also received good reviews, and the second and third seasons are also in production.

Recently, VIZ Media (a brand of Shogakukan) announced that the derivative illustrated novel "One Piece: Heroines", focusing on four female characters, Nami, Robin, Vivi and Perona (and more female characters), will be launched in spring 2025.

The official has previously published a "One Piece" derivative novel "ONE PIECE Novel: The Stories of HEROINES Heroines" written by Jun Esaka and illustrated by Sayaka Suwa, and released the first volume in June 2021 (Chapters 1 to 4, serialized in chapters since 2019, the Chinese version will be released in November 2021, and the second volume will be released in March 2024 (Chapters 5 to 8).

It is worth noting that Eiichiro Oda did not participate in the creation of this series of works before (the original author's name was retained). This time, VIZ Media reported that it was "created by Eiichiro Oda", so it is impossible to confirm whether the derivative illustrated novel "One Piece: Heroines" will be a new work or an integrated reprint of the series.
