Good news before the show starts: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has been renewed for the seventh season

The sixth season of the American TV series "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." will not be aired until the summer of 2019, but the show recently received good news and was renewed for the seventh season.

ABC Entertainment President Channing Dungey said that the seventh season will have only 13 episodes like the sixth season, instead of 22 episodes like the first five seasons.

Dungey previously said: "Putting Agents of SHIELD in the summer will provide a 'special treat' to the fans who love the show, and hopefully it will extend the life of the show a little longer."

"Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." had a 1.2% audience share among viewers aged 18-49 and was also successful in international markets.

Before "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." was renewed, ABC canceled the Marvel series "Inhumans," which had a ratings of 0.6% and 2.65 million viewers.
