The "Super Mario" animated film will be released in 2022. Are you looking forward to it?

In January this year, Nintendo announced that it would cooperate with Universal Pictures' Illumination Entertainment to produce the "Super Mario" animated film. However, 10 months have passed and there has been no new developments on the film. Recently, Chris Meledandri, co-founder of Illumination Entertainment, was interviewed by foreign media and revealed some inside information about the "Super Mario" movie.

Chris Meledandri said that although the script and cast of the Super Mario animated film have not been finalized, he is very relaxed because the film was adapted into a live-action movie in 1993, but the word of mouth was terrible, which was a disaster. This undoubtedly gave him less pressure.

Chris Meledandri believes that the failure of the film was due to the lack of cooperation with the game creators, and this animated film will work closely with game producer Shigeru Miyamoto.

He said that this film was a very ambitious challenge, because its original form was very thin, you had to dig deep and not affect generations of people's love for Super Mario Bros., and you had to create a plot in the form of animation that could support the entire movie.

The "Super Mario" animated film is currently a priority development project for Illumination Entertainment and is expected to be released in 2022.
