"Venom" started strong with a 10 million advance night screening in North America, setting a record for October in film history

This weekend, Tom Hardy's masterpiece "Venom: Let There Be Carnage" officially landed in the North American film market. According to IGN News, the advance night screening of "Venom" which started at 17:00 on Thursday, grossed 10 million US dollars overnight, setting a new record for the highest advance night box office in October in film history!

The previous record holder was the 2011 film "Paranormal Activity 3", which grossed $8 million in advance night screenings. IGN also predicts that Venom will have a first weekend box office of $70 million, which will break the October first weekend box office record. The current October first weekend box office record holder is the 2013 film "Gravity", which grossed $53 million in its first weekend.

As of press time, "Venom: Let There Be Carnage" has a score of 7.1 on IMDb, a Rotten Tomatoes freshness rating of 31%, and a popcorn index of 89%.
