X-Men: Dark Phoenix changes release date from Valentine's Day to summer

According to Deadline, Fox has just postponed the release dates of some of its upcoming films, including "X-Men: Dark Phoenix," "Gambit," and "Alita: Battle Angel."

Due to multiple reshoots, "X-Men: Dark Phoenix" will be moved from the previously scheduled February 14, 2019 (Valentine's Day) to June 7, 2019, becoming a summer blockbuster.

On the 20th Century Fox official YouTube channel, the first trailer of "X-Men: Dark Phoenix" has been viewed more than 8 million times. In China, the official microblog has been viewed more than 44 million times in just 24 hours.

"Gambit" starring Channing Tatum was rescheduled from June 7, 2019 to March 13, 2020, and "Alita: Battle Angel" directed by Cameron was rescheduled from December 21, 2018 to February 14, 2019, replacing "X-Men: Dark Phoenix".

It is reported that unlike the postponement of "X-Men: Dark Phoenix", the postponement of "Alita: Battle Angel" has "nothing to do with post-production" and is mainly to catch up with the Chinese New Year (2019.2.5) and better position the Chinese market.

In addition, Deadline also reported that Fox also plans to release a PG13 version of "Deadpool 2" (Harmonized version), which is scheduled to replace "Alita" on December 21, 2018.

If the above reports are true, North America will see a blockbuster brawl on December 21, 2018. Movies released on this day include Aquaman, Bumblebee, Sherlock Holmes & Watson, and Deadpool 2.
