The future of the "Pirates of the Caribbean" series is still unknown. Disney is trying to create a new story without Johnny Depp, but they have repeatedly stated that they are not opposed to letting Depp continue to participate and there is still room for negotiation between the two sides. But if Depp really returns to the "Pirates of the Caribbean" series, his role may not be too important. Daniel Richtman, a well-known whistleblower in the industry, recently revealed that Disney does intend to let Depp return, but his role will only be a supporting role. There are currently two new sequels in the "Pirates of the Caribbean" series, one starring Margot Robbie and written by Christina Hodson; the other is co-written by Ted Elliott and Craig Mazin, who co-wrote the original series, but Richman did not specify which one Disney would like Depp to star in. But what is certain is that the two plots are not centered on Captain Jack. The protagonist of the one starring Robbie is obviously Robbie. As for the one led by Mazin and Elliott, Disney wants to find black actress Ayo Edebiri to star. If Depp participates in these two films and is positioned as a supporting role, then his role will probably be to serve as a mentor to these new characters. But if he is not a supporting role, it is likely to be the same as the first to third episodes, with equal roles and equal status with the newcomers. |
