Disney's "Mulan" live-action movie first revealed makeup photos, to be released in March 2020

Disney's live-action film version of "Mulan" has officially started filming, and today the official released the makeup photo of Mulan played by the heroine Liu Yifei.

The live-action version of "Mulan" follows the general plot of Disney's 1998 animated film of the same name. According to the official news previously released by Disney, the film tells "the epic adventure story of a fearless young woman who disguises herself as a man to fight against northern invaders who attacked China."

"As the eldest daughter of an honorary warrior, Hua Mulan is feisty, strong-willed and quick to come up with ideas of her own. When the emperor decrees that one man from every household must serve in the army, she steps up to take her aging father's place as Hua Jun, becoming one of the greatest heroes China has ever known."

"Mulan" is directed by Niki Caro ("Whale Rider", "McFarland"), inspired by the narrative poem "The Ballad of Mulan", and written by Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver ("Jurassic World", "In the Heart of the Sea"), Elizabeth Martin and Lauren Hynek; producers include Jason Reid ("Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles"), Chris Bender ("A History of Violence") and Jack Weiner ("Inception"), and executive produced by Barry M. Osborne ("The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King"), Jiang Zhiqiang ("Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon", "Monster Hunt") and Tim Coddington ("Crazy Rich Asians").

After a year-long global casting, the team finally locked in the actress who plays Hua Mulan: Liu Yifei. Other co-stars include Donnie Yen, Li Jie (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny), Yoson An (The Meg), Utkarsh Ambudkar (Pitch Perfect), Yuan Long (Marco Polo), Ma Tai (Arrival), Rosina Chao (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine), Cheng Pei-pei (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon), Nelson Lee, Kum Elepora, and Chinese superstars Gong Li and Jet Li.
