The female lead of "Terminator" doesn't want to return to the reboot: It's too popular

Four years after reprising her role as Sarah Connor in Terminator: Dark Fate, actress Linda Hamilton recently told Business Insider that she no longer wants to appear in the film series.

She has only returned in Dark Fate since the original Terminator, but the series has attempted to reboot several times, all with limited success. Last year, series creator and renowned director James Cameron said he was working on rebooting the film series (again).

But Hamilton recently told the media that she has no interest in returning: "I'm done. I'm done. I don't have anything to say. It's the same old story and it's been told before."

She continued: “I have no idea why anyone would do a reboot. But I know the world of Hollywood is built on reboots right now.”

Hamilton also said she struggled with fans' praise for Sarah Connor over the years because the character wasn't exactly an icon to look up to. "She was a woman who was struggling through hell," she explained. "She made some really bad choices. She wasn't a good mother, but she was a good fighter."

"So I tried to analyze some of the details and understand, 'Okay, they honor her for her strength and her power, and I did create a show, but she's very imperfect. She's an imperfect person.'"

But now she has accepted fans expressing their love and even treating her like a real hero in a time-traveling robot war: "If you could see how boring I am in real life! But it's lovely, I can't complain. It's enjoyable."
