The Wizard of Oz prequel film Wicked released its first trailer

The first trailer for the upcoming movie "Wicked: Part 1", a prequel to the classic Broadway play "The Wizard of Oz", was released at the 58th Super Bowl.

The trailer shows the dreamlike scene of this classic musical being adapted for the big screen for the first time and introduces some of the musical clips. The film will be divided into two parts, the first of which will be released on November 27, 2024, and the second on November 26, 2025.

The film is directed by Chinese-American director Jon M. Chu, with Cynthia Erivo playing the role of Elphaba Thorpe, nicknamed the "Wicked Witch of the West", and Ariana Grande playing the role of the good witch Glinda Upland. Other actors include Jonathan Bailey (playing Fierro Tiguera), Jeff Goldblum (playing the Wizard of Oz), Ethan Wright (playing Porco) and Michelle Yeoh (playing Mrs. Mollyboo).
