Donnie Yen to star in Hollywood movie Kung Fu adapted from 1970s American TV series

Recently, according to foreign media "Hollywood Reporter", Chinese Kung Fu superstar Donnie Yen will star in the Hollywood movie "Kung Fu". The film is adapted from the 1970s Western adventure American TV series of the same name. David Leitch will co-produce and direct the film with Universal, Stephen Chin will write the screenplay, and Ed Spielman will serve as executive producer.

"Donnie Yen is a talented actor and an action legend, and we are honored to have such a true Kung Fu master join the film," said Leitch. "It will be exciting to work with our partners and Universal Pictures to bring this beloved story to the big screen, with Donnie Yen as our leading man."

The TV version of "Kung Fu" starred David Carradine and aired from 1972 to 1975. It tells the story of Qian Guanchang, a Chinese-American orphan who was taken in by the Shaolin Temple, where he practiced martial arts, and then went to the American West to find his blood-related brothers, facing dangers and difficulties from all sides.
