A new Supergirl is here! Supergirl: Girl of Tomorrow releases first set photos

Superman director James Gunn announced on Bluesky that Supergirl: Girl of Tomorrow has started filming in Leavesden, England, and shared the first set photo of the new Supergirl Kara Zor-El. It is reported that the new Supergirl will be played by Milly Alcock, who played Koukou in House of the Dragon.

Milly Alcock, the super girl played by "Little Guoguang", shows her back with red hair:

In addition to Millie Alcock, "Aquaman" Jason Momoa has also joined the cast as Lobo, Matthias Schoenaerts plays the villain Krem, and Eve Ridley (The Three-Body Problem) plays Lucy Marie Knoll.

David Krumholtz and Emily Beecham will play Supergirl's parents Zor-El and Alura in Supergirl: Girl of Tomorrow:

"Supergirl: Girl of Tomorrow" is directed by Craig Gillies ("Cruella: Black and White, I, Tonya"), and the script is written by actress and screenwriter Ana Nogueira ("The Vampire Diaries, Hamilton"), and the story is inspired by the comics created by Tom King. It is said that efforts will be made to redefine Supergirl as "not just a female version of Superman". The film will be released in North America on June 26, 2026.
